Amina “Locs” Dorsey

JPJF Secretary

Hi, I am Amina “Locs” Dorsey. I re-entered the board of the JP JumPers Foundation (JPJF) for a second term in January 2022. In addition to being  a board member and the secretary of JPJF, I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional, Resident Counseling Intern (Faith and Family Advocate LLC), Life Coach (Ataraxis Life), and Administrative Office Associate (Virgie Binford Education Center/Richmond Juvenile Detention).

JPJF has made a major impact on the community at large. Not only do they provide needed resources for the special needs community, they also bring awareness to those who are not affected by special needs. They inform the community of the diversity in us all and how those with special needs are not DISabled but are differently-abled. JPJF encourages everyone to participate in inclusive activities such as JPJF Top Golf Experience, JPJF Karaoke Day Party, JPJF #LIUB Autism Walk, JPJF Giving Tree, JPJF Special Needs Talent and Awards Show, and more. As the desiderata of the special needs community grows, so do the efforts of JPJF; and, ALL are welcome to JUMP IN!

When I am not participating in board activities or having fun at one of the many JPJF events, I like to spend time with my family, travel, read, and listen to good music. I also like to stalk Pam Mines and the Mines family, but that’s a story for another day.
