Monique Sample

Hi, I am Monique Sample. I joined the board of the JP JumPers Foundation (JPJF) in 2024.  Currently, I am the Student Programs and Employer Partnerships Specialist in the Career Services Office at Virginia Commonwealth University

JPJumPers Foundation is all about making a real difference in the lives of individuals with special needs and their families. At its heart, the foundation is a community—one that understands the unique challenges faced by those with special needs and works tirelessly to provide the support, resources, and love that these families need.

For many, JPJumPers is a lifeline. It offers a place where families can connect, share their stories, and feel understood. It’s a space where people know they’re not alone in their journey, and that there’s a network of caring individuals who have their back.

The foundation’s work goes beyond just raising awareness. They advocate for true inclusion—ensuring that people with special needs aren’t just seen but are fully embraced in schools, workplaces, and everyday life. This means breaking down barriers and changing perceptions, so everyone gets the respect and opportunities they deserve.

Through their programs and events, JPJumPers brings joy, learning, and a sense of belonging to those who might otherwise be and feel left out.

For many families who face financial hurdles, the foundation has stepped in to help cover the costs of essential therapies or equipment, easing some of the burdens and ensuring that their loved ones get the care they need.

At the end of the day, the JPJumPers Foundation is about more than just support—it’s about building a world where every person with special needs is valued, celebrated, and given the chance to thrive.

When not working on JPJF social media, I am usually spending time with family and friends or out taking pictures. I love a good book, traveling (though I don’t get to do it enough) and listening to music.
